64 – Dawn – Before – Fire above Water
As dawn raises her rosy fingers on over the hill, the rooster crows twice and he knew there was much work to be done. Sadly, it was too early for the ice had not yet melted and he was unable to complete the crossing. The dawn is a time of silence and beauty, to feel alive and absorb the majesty of creation. However, it not yet be the time for forward action. For this, we must wait for the sun.
1st – Sleeping Past Dawn – While he should have been up with first hints of light, he oversleeps and misses the bus. He should be shamed for not taking advantage of such an obvious opportunity.
2nd – Stopping for Dawn – He was going down the wrong path and the light of dawn illuminated this for him. After stopping and turning, he can start again.
3rd – Dawn by the River – The ice will not permit passage, as it must first be melted by the sun. He should wait and watch resolutely for this opportunity and proceed forward once the way opens forth.
4th – Conquering the Dawn – Riding forth into the dawn with no fear of devils, he commits himself to a great cause that will take three years to complete.
5th – Alms at Dawn – The monk wanders through the village at dawn asking the people for his daily food. The wise man feels honored at the opportunity to give for such a cause. Now is the time to be generous.
6th – Drunk at Dawn – They drank wine and sang songs until the night turned into day. If this was done with trustworthy people, then all shall be well. Just take care not to drink too much, lest we fall into the river!
All Six – After the Dawn – Shining in its brilliancy, the Father Sun represents an actual manifestation of the hopes and dreams we cast at dawn. Love.
