Factors affecting lightning colour are ambient temperature; how much water vapour is in the atmosphere and whether any precipitation is occurring; any dust or ash in the atmosphere; and the primary gases which we see fluorescing as they cool back down from being superheated by the lightning bolt. Volcanic lightning often occurs amidst both regular clouds and clouds of ash from the volcano, so you can get some more interesting colours.
