Water. You’re more than likely to spill water in a kitchen or bathroom therefore more likely to damage the carpet. Mildew, mold, and bacteria will thrive off the humidity in a bathroom and cause some unpleasant smells. The water is also more likely to attract insects. Also cleaning it up will be more than difficult.
