The same way you dont need a different type of shotgun for different species of duck. Were basically just dousing the insects in poison (most use a neurotoxin that is very effective on insects) it doesnt really matter what species they are

Ants and roaches are primarily surface insects. Some can fly, but they mostly crawl, and they are both common indoor pests. Both are also commonly found in kitchens and bathrooms, so they need insecticides that are safe to spray on surfaces that people are in contact with.

There are two basic different insecticides contact insecticides and systemic insecticides. Contact insecticides work when the insecticide comes into the contact of the surface of the insect whereas systemic insecticides are consumed by the insect, however both forms of insecticide can have consequences for other insects and the environment as a whole. https://youtu.be/cOGkkPxzY6M

I know that wasp spray, specifically, is in a different container than others because it is intended to be used outside and from further away so the spray nozzle is designed to spray much further and be more concentrated where it hits.

I don’t know about ant/roach spray but I suspect it is similar, the nozzle is designed to be more defuse so you can more easily cover more area.
