I’m testing out apples new Lossless Audio on my iPhone 12 mini. ALAC 24-bit/192 kHz.

However, on my PC, using AAC, on iTunes … it sounds better?

The audio processors are usually bigger on a decent motherboard so they perform well but remain affordable. They’ve got more room for their parts and shielding from other electro magnetic sources.

On mobile platforms space is always in tight supply so to make as good a part at 1/4 the size or less it gets expensive fast.

The encoding factors in as well.
