Why do your eyes make squishy sounds when you push them?

Most of the time when you get tired and rub your eyes nothing really happens. But then sometimes it sounds like the squeaky wheel on a shopping cart. Sometimes both eyes sometimes only one. What gives?

Your eyes are squishy. They’re full of vitreous fluid inside so they’re like grapes in a way. Plus you hear sounds in your own head louder than most things. Dont push on your eyeballs, it’s not good for them.

Squeaking may be from muscles around the eye or it could be the muscle in your fingers you’re hearing.

That’s a guess though because honestly I’ve never heard of squeaky eyes.
