Why do you feel nauseous when overly hungry, which can prevent you from wanting to eat?

When overly hungry, it gets to the point where you feel so nauseous, everything you think about eating makes you feel yuck and you don’t want to eat. You almost have to force yourself to chow it down. If your brain is telling you you’re hungry and you should eat, why when it’s even worse your brain is basically like “no thanks” while you’re still needing food intake?

There’s acid in your stomach that helps break down food. The amount of acid builds up if you haven’t eaten in a while. It’s this excess acid that causes nausea.
