Does the clorine make you burp or something? How do you not burp when you drink drinking water?

I’ve never heard of this but maybe it is the chlorine. Chlorine is a base and your stomach is full of acid so it could react sort of like baking soda and vinegar

When water enters the mouth, you have a reflex that stops your breathing to make sure anything that’s entering is either going into your stomach or not at all. This stops you from drowning every time you take a drink. So when you’re swimming and water enters your throat, the water hits the back of your throat and it’s like “oh no water is going down the back of the throat better put it in the stomach” It happens more so when your head is a little above water and you swallow air too. This causes you to burp later. There’s a proper name for the reflex but I couldn’t remember it.
