Why do some supermarket entrances have that ribbed floor?

It’s so loud and annoying to push a cart over it but there must be a reason.

It knocks dirt and mud of shoes and wheels. It lets the place look a little cleaner at the end of the day so they don’t have to clean during the day.

Allows visually-impaired people to know when they’re leaving a walkway, entering a parking lot or street, or nearing a transit boarding location.

Also , it shakes dirt and rain from the cart
It works like nonskid so if your feet are wet you won’t slip

Supermarket rumble strips. Let you know to slow down, there are workers ahead. Alternatively, if you fell asleep at the “wheel” it will wake you up so you don’t hit a wall.
