So when someone such as yourself calls bullshit on their data, and proceeds to ask their own dentist if they recommend it (and get told that they, in fact, don’t recommend it) they can just say that this guy is in the 10% minority.

It’s like that with every product, companies know that they can’t make everyone happy, so they do that, to avoid people saying that its fake that everyone likes it.

Note that the question they ask is along the lines of: would you recommend Foocorp toothpaste compared to no toothpaste?

The one that always gets me is something like “95% of women agreed they saw a difference in their skin” and in small text at the bottom “based on the responses of 73 women from a sample cohort of 250”.

They could be referring to recommending a brand for general use, which you could say about most any brand of any product out there, not specifically recommended over another specific brand. ie- “Would you recommend Crest for brushing teeth?” rather than, “Would you recommend using ONLY Crest for brushing teeth over any other brand?” It’s all in the wording.
