I’m currently doing a trip trough the United States and I’m seeing a lot of single trailers in the desert of Nevada / California on large 30 acre grunds with nothing on them but dust and dry plants. I’m wondering who actually buys such a place and how those people get provided with stuff like water, energy and food.

my bro lives in an area with wells too deep to be able to afford so a water truck brings them water once a week and it fills there cisterns up. this is the most common way for desert homes ect to get water.

You can get utility hookups in remote areas but assuming there isnt. The likely they have a well/river/stream/lake/rain for water, use propane/generator/solar for heating/energy, and a septic tank or just digging ditches/composting for waste.
