Working out causes little bits of damage to occur. When you’re resting or sleeping is when repairs are taking place. That’s one of the primary purposes of sleeping, to give the body time to heal from its exertions the previous day and prepare for the next day.

Constantly? The body keeps working all the time, you are healing from injuries, digesting food, etc. all the time. There isn’t one single time that muscles grow and they don’t at other times.
