The blades reflect sound waves back to your ears. The spaces between them allow the sound of your voice to pass through the fan. The rotation makes the moving gaps and blades create a “stuttering” sound as your voice alternates between reflecting back and passing through.

I think it’s the blades just chopping the soundwaves we’re producing with our voices so instead of being smooth like in open air, it’s choppy like a robot
