There’s a [duct (tube) that connects](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasolacrimal_duct) your eye and your sinuses, so some of the excess tears produced when crying flow into the sinuses where they make the mucous in the sinuses much more runny, and some of that mucous goes out the nose.
