Having twitches during sleep is a common phenomenon. It is called hypnic jerk or Hypnagogic jerk. This usually happens when you enter deep sleep and ultimately your muscles start relaxing too much. Peacefully sleeping is fine, but when someone goes into a deep sleep state, then there are chances that your organs may stop working. To avoid this condition, your body automatically gives you a jerk, so that you would come out of your intense sleep.

The causes of this phenomenon are stress, increased consumption of caffeine or depression. Though, according to research, healthy people are more prone to it. Hypnic jerks are nothing to worry about.

i believe it it intensified with the use of drugs.. because you’re more exhausted from all the chaos drug use brings or maybe don’t sleep as often so when your finally going to sleep your muscles relax too much.
