Effect is a noun while affect is a verb. You cause an effect on something by affecting it. Effect is sort of a result of something. Affect is like causing something

They way I remember it is special effects.

I can remember it well enough that I’d never write special affects. Effects are like computer graphics. I wouldn’t say it would effect someone because that would be like animating them.

You can affect someone’s affect, for example by having an effect on their affect which affects the affect in a positive or negative way. So, in effect, the effect you have on their affect can also affect you by having an effect on your affect.

To;dr affects can affect affects to effect an effect
