Was does laying in bed not have the same effect as actually sleeping? 0 When you lay down on a bed and do nothing, not much is different. But when you actually begin to “sleep”, your body starts recharging for the next day, why is that? There have been lots of theories, but we just don’t know. What we do know is that while we sleep, brain activity is still present.
