What happens to the Brain when a tumor is removed?

Does brain matter grow back to fill the gap or do you just have a big hole in your head, or what in the world happens?

A tumor is simply a mass of unhelpful (benign) or harmful (malignant) tissue. Brain tissue does not regrow, but if the surgery is done well there’s little to no loss of function following.

Brain tissue does not grow back. The empty space will fill up with cerebrospinal fluid. If neighboring tissue was compressed by the tumor, some of that tissue will re-expand to fill some or all of that space depending on the size and location of the tumor and how long it was there.
