Most civilized countries have rules regarding who can buy, sell, and keep exotic animals, in an effort to make sure we avoid a situation like we have in south America where Escobar imported hippos for his own personal ostentatious display of wealth and, after his downfall they’re now an invasive species with no natural predator running amok.
