Like a refresher course in school or college, basically if you attended a lesson for something in the first year you remember something vaguely about it. So you remember that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, but not what it looks like or how it works, the refresher course updates your memory so you now know the details so if you had a test in the next year on mitochondria you would pass it. The booster shot is like a refresher course for your immune system.
