“ROM” Read only memory. Imagine the computers memory is like a book, the story (information) had already been written and you can’t change any of these words. Things like movies or music work for this format.

If YOU were writing the story, this ROM type of storage (memory) would not work because you would need to write the words, and likely have to erase many times to fix spelling or even change how the story was going to end.

ROM stands for read only memory, basically it means that once it’s written on it can’t be changed anymore.
