Neo Confusianism is the western name for the philosophy of Song Confucianism, which is essentially all the teachings of Confucius, but also deifying him into a god.

This gives his teachings, which in Confusianism is advice and teaching, added weight, and the force of divine law.

Essentially, it is the difference between believing Jesus was a teacher and believing he was the perfect Son of God.
