What are the differences (if any) between endurance (as in “endurance training workout”), lung capacity, & stamina?

Okay so I can sort of answer this.

Lung capacity is the total amount of air that can be breathed in at once. Usually a larger lung capacity would lead to greater stamina/endurance.

Stamina and endurance are more or less the same thing. The difference is with their limitations.

Stamina – ‘Length of time one can perform an action to their maximum ability’

Endurance – ‘Length of time one can perform an action’

Although not the actual definitions this is more or less the difference.

To add to what’s already been said, stamina and endurance will depend on more than just your lungs. They will also depend on the ability of your heart and muscles. Whereas lung capacity is something that specifically describes your lungs.

Regular exercise can help improve the ability of all 3 (lungs, heart, and muscles) to withstand further exercise.
