Existentialism: the value of ourselves is created upon our own life, our own actions, not via abitrary values other people give or label upon us. That’s what existence precedes essence implies: our nature rather depends on our existence than standing as an independent concept. Like doctors are doctors because they work to cure people in their life, not because they belong to a “doctor” class that make them to do so.

Optimistic Nilhilism: Humans and other things are not created by a creator and are not assigned with purposes. They are also limited in space, time and energy (no afterlife). (Nihilistic) Nevertheless, they should be happy with it because thay can have have a will of their own and know how to appreciate the value of their life. (Optimistic)

So basically Existentialism focuses on the relation between a person and the society, when Optimistic Nilhilism focuses on the relation between human and the world, the universe.
