in regard to photons, how do those 3D rainbow hologram trading cards work?

I understand generally how photons bounce around to make wavelengths of color for normal objects, but what is happening with these holograms? What are they made of? How are they printed?

3D image cards, if I know what you mean, are not technically holograms. They are cards with a whole bunch of tiny ridges, and depending on the angle you look from, you see different sides of each ridge. The different sides have different images on them, and so when you look from different angles you see different images. These images can be slightly different angles of the same object, which makes it look 3D.
