How realistic is the phrase “that food went right through me”? In other words, when you eat really greasy food, does it actually go through your entire digestive system in under a half hour?

Heads up, this is kinda gross.

I once ate hot Cheetos and Diet Coke before a 2 hour car drive, on an empty stomach. Shortly after I got to my destination, I had diarrhea and it was definitely the bright red hot Cheeto dye. I hadn’t had hot Cheetos or anything with red dye for days prior. The only thing I could make of it was my body rejected it since it’s junk, and it quite literally passed through me with little to no digestion happening. This seems abnormal though. Even though hot Cheetos don’t sit well still, I never shit them out hours later. I honestly might/probably have a sensitivity or allergy or something.

no, there’s really no way for this to happen. if something like that happened, then you got diarrhea and blamed it on that food but there’s no way that food is out of your system so quickly. everyone is on a 12-48hr or so cycles. meaning what you poop out today is what you ate 12-48 hours ago.
