Laughing is not talking. Talking is just pushing air through your throat, it’s a soft and controlled thing.

Laughing means that you are contracting your abdomen a lot to produce bursts of laugh. It hurts because it’s the equivalent of doing a lot of crunches. Contracting your muscles in that way, in rapid, erratic succession, will hurt.
