How does the SCA coffee flavor wheel work?

It’s essentially a list of common flavour characteristics that coffee can have, arranged in a visually stimulating and interesting way. It also, to some extent, groups those characteristics together. So a fruity coffee could have a lemony flavour or a blackcurrant flavour but both would be considered “fruity”.
There’s no special meaning to it being a wheel shape. Coffees can have characteristics from totally separate bits of the wheel, or multiple ones from the same category.
