How does decarbing weed make it able to eat and gets you stoned, what is happening to it?

You’re doing the same thing that happens when you’re burning it, transforming THCA(the inert form) to ∆(D9)THC(the psychoactive form)

The process is called decarboxylation: the removal of a carboxyl group which is essentially a CO2 molecule. And you do it because THCA doesn’t interact with our body (doesn’t bind the cannabinoid receptors) and once you remove the carboxyl, it actually becomes biologically active (THC). So it’s basically an activation of the active ingredient (well, the most commonly known one at least). You don’t have to worry about that when smoking it because the extreme heat takes care of the process activating it while you inhale.
