For example, a boric acid suppository. It’s a capsulated power pill. How does a vagina break down the capsule?

The pH of the vagina is roughly 4.5 which is fairly acidic. It’s a hostile environment to ensure bacteria cannot ascend the vagina into the uterus which has open entry to the abdominal cavity via the Fallopian tubes. Sperm are only allowed to survive passage after ovulation due to vaginal mucous ripening thanks to increased estrogen which allows them to swim through the mucous faster.

You’re on board that your stomach can break down a capsule right?
The patients vagina is doing the same thing. The material used for the outer capsule is made to “dissolve” due to one of the factors found within the vagina (heat/pH/damp) then, the powder which has the active ingredient can come in contact with the walls of the vagina and glands there and begin to do it’s work.
