Letters formed in the same style and using the same starting and finishing points and the weight used at certain parts of the letter.

Handwriting Analysis doesn’t really work.

People develop “muscle memory” in regards to common tasks. If you do something often enough, you can become shockingly consistent. Handwriting Analysis looks for consistent elements in your writing.

However, there are two problems with that as a forensic science. The first is that the odds of two people writing a letter in a *standardized alphabet* the same way is way too high. Eyewitness Memory is more reliable, and eyewitness memory *sucks*.

The second is that most people outside of the public school system type instead of write, since typing is almost always faster and more legible. If you don’t use a skill often, muscle memory degrades… preventing you from writing consistently.
