* When those two things over-lap, they have to agree on the result before it’s published.
My understanding is that under the NFLs “Next Gen Stats” program, every player has radio chips in their shoulder pads. There are still statisticians manipulating that data stream (for example clarifying certain outcomes, or inputting penalties), but the accuracy of the data is thanks to the player tracking.
Companies like Yahoo, DraftKings, and FanDuel buy this data and adapt it to fantasy scoring.
