Having anemia means you don’t have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen effectively. If you regularly bleed heavily, its a much harder burden on your body to replace the blood, which can lead to not having enough blood

Iron deficiency anemia is most often associated with the menstrual cycle. As we all know, iron is in your blood and during your period you are expelling more blood than you normally would and you body isnt able to produce iron on its own. You get it from your diet and some people need to consume more than others.

Anemia simply, is a lack of red blood cells or haemoglobin. You could read this as a ‘lack of blood’.

Knowing that, the idea that heavy bleeding can result in suffering from a lack of blood makes perfect sense really.
