“Zulu time” is just the same as the central Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) time zone (which is basically Greenwich Mean Time, or GMT, but it is constant and never changes for daylight saving time). “Zulu” is the NATO Phonetic Alphabet word for the letter “Z”, and the letter “Z” is assigned to the time zone that corresponds to the central UTC time zone.

As you head East (“right” on a map with the north pole at the top), you are getting later in the day. So two time zones over from UTC would be “UTC +2”. As you head West (“left” on a map with the north pole at the top), you’re getting earlier in the day, so to calculate that you’d subtract hours – two time zones west of UTC would be UTC -2.

It’s a time zone, like Eastern Time or Central European Summer Time.

>How international time or Zulu time works?

Step 1: Imagine there’s only one time zone for the whole planet.
Step 2: That’s it. That’s the time everywhere. There is no step 2.
