eli5: Why and how is it that certain songs bring back certain memories?

It’s because your brain connects that specific song to one pericular memory. Usally it’s because it’s because that memory has a strong emotion attacht to it and thus this song brings back that emotion and thus also bring back that memory. The reson these memorys even exists inside our brains are because we use these experianses thruought our life, but the actual memory stays hidden until something like a song triggers it to come forth again. I hope this makes sense.
