eli5: what actually makes a deep voice attractive?

A deep voice is caused mainly by having a large chest area, meaning the male is likely strongly built and large. This is something women are attracted to according to because larger males are better at protecting their mates and offspring.
Basically voice is made by vocal folds and air, thinner vocal folds have more space between them so the cords produce higher frequencies and if the vocal cords lengths and thickens (especially during puberty ) it causes lower frequencies ( deep voices ) and it’s due to higher testosterone and that’s why it probably seems manly
Can’t say scientifically.. but it just sounds as though they’re able to protect you from the world and it can be very comforting and soothing and as tho your worries melt away when they speak lol 🙂
