It’s not enough to just keep water in you. You also have to manage your electrolyte balance. You might need to get a bit more sodium in your diet.

Need to stretch your legs and feet more before exercise. Also exercise causes lactic acid to build up, often in legs and feet. One way to get rid of the pain is to lie on your back and put your feet up on a bench or wall

Not really an eli5 answer, but are you stretching or doing any kind of post-workout “cool-down”?

Electrolytes matter as much as (even more than) hydration. Potassium, calcium and sodium especially. East a banana an hour before your workout and see if that makes a difference.
