Do animals Get enough sleep?

I assume most animals do, but are there instances where animals will stay up late at night, Even though they know it’s bad for them? Do animals sometimes stay up so long that they collapse from being to sleepy?

I know their instincts might tell them to sleep, but will they sometimes just stay up because they want to, similarly to humans, who know it’s bad for them, yet still stay up.

Thanks in advance:)

Similar to humans, they can have sleep disturbances due to stress or other factors.

There have been animal studies where the animal will die if kept awake past a certain timeframe.

Humans need sleep to clear protein buildup in the brain.

Some animals sleep cycles are disturbed, and it’s caused by human activity. Bright lights and night-shift noises can throw animals off their cycles and cause them to sleep later.
