There are certain careers, where the full 'attitude' is given, only in recent years. An example is the famous primitive painter, Grandma Moses, and another is "Colonel" Sanders, the founder of Success Kentucky Fried Chicken fast-food restaurant chain. Both started their careers when they were in there 70. Patrick's career could be of a type with Grandma Moses and "the Colonel Sanders. Or maybe not.

How to anticipate, if Patrick's Worth grow
What I recommend is that you look for news of him, perhaps to create a Google News Alerts, and see if it starts to show a pattern of increasing impact on the media, with the recognition by the powerful institutions. What is the best way to make painted furniture look worn, distressed, "primitive "...?

I bought an old cabinet that is painting was too "fresh" and tall chimneys and some libraries. I want to look worn and the paint layers (I think some painting and stripping will be involved?)

Get a palm sander and sand patches along on it. Take down the wood in some areas, the other just down to the layer (s) of paint underneath. Hope this helps.

Primitive Piano $15.99 Performers: Billie Pierce, Speckled Red, James Robinson, Doug Suggs.The reissue of Primitive Piano, a blues piano anthology originally recorded in 1956 and 1957 and released by the long-defunct Tone label, proves to be a treasure trove for blues fans. Not only are long unavailable tracks by Speckled Red (older brother of Piano Red), Doug Suggs, and James Robinson present, but additional material by Suggs and five songs by Billie Pierce make their debut. Billie Pierce was recorded on a well-worn upright piano, but she doesn't let it hinder up as she sings with passion in "Keep a Knockin'." Her husband, cornetist De De Pierce, is on hand for two takes of the spiritual "Bye and Bye," though he sticks to providing harmony vocals behind his wife's lead vocal. The wood carving is a special unit. It requires extreme patience that could flourish with a fine imagination. If you decide to become a wood carver, There are many styles to choose from. You could use a simple piece of wood and a small knife. Or you can go as far as using power tools. So how can know which style is best for you?

There are five main styles of wood. Each style is significantly different from the others. These styles are whittling, chip carving, relief carving, intaglio carving and sculpture in the round.

? Whittling. Whittling involves the removal of pare shavings or bits of wood with a knife. E 'la simplest form of wood, but in reality not the art of wood carving. This is an important distinction because whittling is, and should always be very simple. A piece of wood and a knife are all you need. And because it is so simple, whittled objects are not very specific, as is the case in all other styles of carving wood.

When you have a whittled object in your hand, you absolutely know it. Each knife stroke is seen clearly. It remains as simple as when began centuries ago, during the time of cavemen. Which is not surprising?

? Chip Carving. Chip carving involves the use of different knives to remove small pieces of wood (chips) from a flat surface of wood. These are specially made chip knives that are used to push or pull in wood, cutting upwards or downwards to release each chip.

Chip carving has become so popular that is now the art form. The main technique is a triangular shape different chip from wood. This creates complex patterns that are often geometric in nature. Free-form lines are regularly used to accentuate these chipped models. You could really leave go of your imagination.

? Relief Carving. In this style of wood carving, the designs are cut into 3-dimensional fashion on a flat back cut of wood. These are the wooden sculptures can be seen on the walls or sitting on tables or surface tops.

There are two types of relief carving. A bas-relief carving is identifiable with the effect visual that is created. Without shadows to imply deep carving, the product seems very superficial and is therefore considered low relief. It can also be found in dining tables and bedroom furniture. E 'meraviglioso for wood panels. You can also see special license plates as part of a decorative element or as the actual surface of coffee tables and end tables.

? Carving In The Round. This is the most advanced style of wood carving. The product can be considered by all sides with a complete and easy view of all the details. E 'carved into its wooden base and serves as a support platform or a pedestal. The sculpture may be a person, an animal or landscapenearly anything you can imagine. It could be life size or scale. The sky is almost the limit with carving in the round.

This style of carving requires a number of instruments. A wide range of knives, chisels and gouges are a minimum. The use of power tools is not surprising, and often expected. The final product is usually quite spectacular. Often, a product of carving fun, it's easily mistaken for a porcelain creation. The details that are impressive.

What is the value of two statue / figure of jade or serpentine, 10 "high, one Asian, signed A. Santini?

While the resolution of property of a relative who found two statues of figures, one of them is definitely Asian, the other looks more European. Both statues appear to be made of jade or serpentine. One is about 10 centimeters in height and sits on a wooden stand. The other is about 12 centimeters in height. Both are smooth, seemingly hand, without paint or other embellishments. There is a label on the bottom of each. The label is red and has a picture of 2 horses pulling a wagon. The label says: "A. Santini Classic Figure ~ ~ Made in Italy. "We tried to search A. Santini long and we found an Italian sculptor by the name that died in 1975, but his work is mainly in marble and is much more detailed than the classical carvings that we found. His grandson, also A. Santini, sculpture is now, but his work looks his grandfather, and not look like the figures we have. We have no idea what the value of these data is, and we need help.
