Located in the heart of Europe, Vienna is a vibrant city and a city known for its cafes, historic districts, beautiful parks, squares elegant courtyards and romantic.

Vindobona Romano, founded in 15 AD, was completely destroyed by the Germanic migrations of the fourth and fifth centuries. With the Roman legions long history, only a small settlement remained. Vindobona The name is probably a version of Celtic "Vedun", which means "stream", a reference to the composition of the position on the banks of the Danube snow fed.

Vienna was a city of dubious reputation, the end of the twelfth century. Its ruler, Duke Leopold V, was involved in the kidnapping of the English king, Richard Leone, on his way back from the crusades. The two nobles had butted heads during the Third Crusade.

Forced to stop in Vienna, Richard was recognized and seized. A large ransom was paid for his freedom, of about twenty-five tons of silver, a huge sum for those days. The Duke of silver used to launch a brand, the vast profits from which allowed him to grow the city and the construction of new walls. Although the Emperor Henry VI had given his blessing to the Duke of illegal activities, the pope was not, and in 1194 Leopold V is been excommunicated.

The first version of Vienna, the cathedral was completed in 1147 as a small parish church, and was actually too large for the small population of Vienna, at that time. The city can not become important for another ten years after it was named capital of the duchy of Austria. A hundred years later, the original church was replaced by a building in the Romanesque style. Its façade, known as the Roman towers, was preserved when construction a Gothic church began in 1340.

In 1359, Duke Rudolf IV as the cornerstone for the soaring Gothic nave, which was completed in 1474. Vienna early Dukes had not been successful in elevating the city to see the bishop, which was necessary for St. Stephen's claimed to be a cathedral, which has always been simply a church within the diocese of Passau. And do not become the seat of a bishop, and then formally a cathedral until 1469. St. Stephen's has undergone many changes since then. As tastes changed, the interior and exterior have been amended to reflect the times. was my neighbor to get rid the silver and left out for me. RT66, was not in a crust.

Try using some Tarnex on it and see if you remove the stains. Rub on with a cloth soft, dry cloth and wipe off immediately using a little 'elbow grease. You may need to repeat the process.
