Are replacing the hardware on my chest. The knobs are screwed, but pulls only have a place in them, maybe you pasted? How do I get em off? There is nothing to unscrew, and so far I could not pry it out. There are 2 posts in a way that can not be processed.

What should I do if a mineral is harder than a flat strip of china?

ok well my geology project is expected tomorrow. we identify rock, finds its hardness and its vein. Im using a plate strip of porcelain, of course, and the hardness of this is about 7. I read that if the mineral (or rock) is more difficult than the streak plate, then do not leave a streak. well i kinda need to know or find the vein. Is there anything else I could use to find vein?

Be sure to verify that the strip is not white or clear. Slide a finger on where you tried a control strip and the presence of residue on your finger. Also, check the plate to see if the sample of ore actually scraped it or not, because the residue can be from the plate instead. If you find that it is more difficult of 7, leaving a stripe, descriptions of minerals that is being referred to hopefully have a note on this. Plus it helps you identify the hardness.
