Flag tradionally England's Union Jack is the classic double cross with red stars on a blue canvas ... World Cup England uses a different flag is a red cross that extends to the edges on a white canvas. What is the problem?
Chaps - the Union Jack is a 'slang' term. And 'the Union Flag! And so is the Union Flag United Kingdom of Great Britain and consists of just English 'Red Cross', the Welsh flag (red diagonal white lines) and the Scottish flag where the dark blue comes from (still white with diagonal lines). That's it. N. Irish (or Northern Ireland or the Republic) flags and we certainly not the Commonwealth.

The Cadastral Map in the Service of the State
$81
Throughout history the control of land has been the basis of political power. Cadastral maps - cartographic records of property ownership - played an important role in the rise of modern Europe as tools for the consolidation and extension of land-based national power. The Cadastral Map in the Service of the State: A History of Properly Mapping, illustrated with 127 maps, traces the development and application of rural property mapping in Europe and European colonies from the Renaissance through the nineteenth century. The authors go beyond traditional cartographic research, approaching the maps as political instruments rather than as simple geographical or historical tools. The result is an unprecedented examination of the political and economic forces behind the production of maps and advances in cartography, demonstrating how the seemingly neutral science of cartography became a political instrument for national interests. Beginning with a review of the roots of cadastral mapping in the Roman Empire, the authors concentrate on the use of cadastral maps in the Netherlands, France, England, the Nordic countries, the German lands, the territories of the Austrian Habsburgs, and the European colonies. During the seventeenth century, governments began to use maps to secure economic and political bases; by the nineteenth century, these maps had become tools for aggressive governmental control of land as tax bases, natural resources, and national territories. The culmination of extensive bibliographic and archival research made possible by the authors' considerable linguistic skills, this work draws from source materials in ten languages and spanning five centuries. It will remain thedefinitive source on the subject for years to come. The Cadastral Map in the Service of the State was awarded the 1991 Kenneth Nebenzahl Prize for the best new manuscript in the history of cartography.

A map, hidden in the gospel of Matthew, is the key to awakening the sleeping giant in the church-men. Sounds like fiction, but it''s true. Murrow stumbled across the map in 2006. After three years of research and writing, he is ready to reveal it to the world.
Whether you work in surveying or property, or be an entrepreneur who needs photographs of your establishment, it is important to know the different points of view and techniques aerial photography can use to get the images you need.
In this article, we will discuss three different types of aerial photography: Oblique, vertical, and panoramic. Each method of production a different result and it is important to choose the method most suited to the situation you want to view.
Oblique Aerial Photography -- In oblique-angle aerial photography, the camera is focused at any angle between three degrees from the vertical and horizon. There are two basic types of oblique: high-angle and low angle. Top oblique angle, the apparent horizon is shown, while in low-angle oblique the horizon is not. With high oblique photography, mist and atmospheric clouds often prevent the viewer to see the true horizon. The furthest point viewable in high oblique aerial photography is called the apparent horizon.
Vertical Aerial Photography - In vertical angle photography, the photos are taken by an aerial platform, either stationary or moving when the camera is really axis vertical at the time of exposure. In photographic terms, a 3-degree variance can occur, after which it becomes "oblique." The advantage of vertical aerial photography is that the scale is essentially constant. Measurements of DG, are easier and more accurate on an oblique photograph. These types of shots often resemble a map in which to look straight down and can be used to plot the points on the ground.
Aerial view Photo - Panoramic photography is achieved through sewing a series of photographs together to form a single "great" shot. Panoramic aerial photography can be done using the full-sized helicopters, their counterparts without a crew, or pole cams. Pole cams are good for very low altitude, but are limited to about 100 feet, and access road is necessary. Full-size helicopters are the platform of choice for the views of high altitude, but the new technology without permission of helicopters, coupled with advanced GPS auto-stabilization, to be positioned a few meters from any elevation or location. This type of aerial photography is perfect to show the proposed point of view or under-construction high buildings.

Knowing the different types of aerial photography available can help to get the exact type of photos you need.
