How do I restore vintage decorative glass?

I recently received my grandmother's Christmas ornaments, from the 1940/50s. They are glass, metal shiny, with finishes, and a lot of the finish is worn away, marked, or opaque. Is there a way to provide that, or a particular type of paint I could use to lighten them up? Also, are not particularly valuable or collectable, only a sentimental value.

Only on the inside-consider the process of silvering commonly used in chemistry demo with a bottle of coca cola. this is a solution of sugar, nitrate of silver, and another-I do not remember offhand. google silver nitrate a glass bottle. it is a simple but super expensive process. The last time I knew, the silver nitrate was a few hundred dollars for a small bottle. enough to do everything ornanments suppose. This only for the work within it. would be too long to get outside (in addition to being monolayer of pure silver rubs off).
