Hello everyone, my husband I was always a sewing machine for my birthday and I have been eyeing this one on eBay, as it seems a good price. I will be used to make quilts and applique. You know a great need for any function on this machine (for quilting and applique) that can be aware of? I am still a newbee and sewing of these techniques so any advice would be greatly appreciated. The fact that it is not the current Janome site and there are reviews of a patternreview.com makes me a tad nervous ... I certainly do not consider without sewing on it. For Female, any machine that can do a line item will work fine. I did (and quilting) a lot of quilts on the machine as a singer or an old white seamstress 15. Applique usually uses a point of some zig-zag type,,, a zig-zag, a blindhem, an indoor model, or the like. Again, there are a lot of machines out there that can do that. The things that I find very useful when quilting is a good harp size (the space between the needle and the pillar on the right), servo motors or step by step, giving full force of the needle punching, even at very slow speeds (mechanical can stall at low speed when you are trying to talk them to do something heavy), and selectable needle upward or down on the arrest. Multiple needle positions you can use to fudge that little quarter inch seam may also be useful. These features which tend to push me electronic machines, which seem to be starting at about $ 350 new around here (I'm in PNW). Used machines are fairly abundant and a better deal. I'm going to suggest going to the sewing machine as many dealers as you can reasonably do and try some machines ... new machines, used machines, mechanics and electronics and find a machine that "feels just right" to you. Do not buy from a number of points or point features per dollar - but if we consider the machine seems sturdy, though tending to jump off when you're sewing flat as is comfortable to use (it may be useful to a knee lift presser foot lever), etc. Furthermore, there is no reason why You can not start with a basic machine and buy another when it grew in him. If you're planning to do a lot of classes where you have to bring your machine to class, you might want to look at one of the basic machinery of the smaller, as the series Janome Jem - and then when the machine quilting bug hits you, buy a fancier one with a large harp. Most of us with a bad case of bugs seem to have sewn a couple of machines - in this way, when one is not a behavior, you have a backup. Whatever you buy, to make sure it does not frustrate you. Machines that "work" is a pleasure to use - but those who struggle just take the fun out of sewing.

The patterns are sized for 9 inch to 10 inch blocks, but they may be enlarged as desired for bigger projects. A green bean border pattern is included, just for fun. The blocks range in complexity from as few as 19 pieces for the peppers and carrots to 77 for the artichokes. Instructions and tips for choosing colors and appliqueing the pieces are given for each vegetable. Any applique technique can be used, and the veggies could also be interpreted in other needlework and would look especially delectable in embroidery.
