Anxiety - is something that everyone experiences from time to time. But for some it is an ongoing, life disrupting the pain in the Tush. In addition to understanding the anxiety only in the context of how you feel - and - what exactly is it? You see, I believe that finding the answer to this question is the first step towards the longer learning to manage anxiety and its fallout.
Now, coming to know the concept of anxiety in terms of healing requires a little 'more than a quick look at a dictionary. Yes, asks a little 'of psycho-Babble. But hang in there, as I think you'll find these two theoretical points of view interesting and relevant.
The fan in the psychoanalytic the stadium would be more likely to root for the theories of Sigmund Freud, who just happens to be the father (you can do even if it involves neurotic "mother"), of psychoanalysis. Of particular note is his uncle siggy structural theory, which suggests the human psyche has three components - the id: the house of our innate desire primitive that its Stomps feet and demands immediate gratification and the issue no matter the consequences (the "principle of pleasure") and the Superego: our active consciousness, which supports a sense morality and prohibits the practice of social taboos, and the ego: the great mediator internal manage the interaction of id, Superego, and our world.
Now, according to Freud, the ego is particularly significant because it seeks to establish a state of balance and peace between our primitive drives, morals, throughout the world and reality. Thus, the ego has cut its work in relation with some incredibly powerful forces. All this said, when our needs id a primitive sort of instant gratification, and our Superego replied that such behavior is totally inappropriate, our ego is put to the test and can easily become overwhelmed. According siggy uncle, is this dynamic that creates anxiety. And the anxiety is all about sound at 150 decibels alarm so that I know, as well as the His designated people, is in danger. There are other paradigms (foundational philosophical / theoretical frameworks of a school of thought or discipline) I find attractive. Here's one of them.
The cognitivists, who subscribe to the notion that emotional fires when we fail to identify the details of our thought patterns and adjustments, could not present anxiety is a direct cause of this danger. Indeed, the seemingly endless waves of anxiety endure many are the result of a lack of internal fear response system that requires the immediate attention of real or perceived danger. Now, the key word in the last sentence is "perceived." Come on - is not a big secret that in the vast majority of cases, our intuition, the dangers are not really rational. Right? And if the threat is not real then rationally consequent anxiety becomes inappropriate and counterproductive for our immediate future and operating.
So, then - according to the number one cognitivists problem is not the generation of anxiety, because in the midst of dangerous circumstances, it is supposed to make an appearance. And if we do not have a sense that human genetics is to promote a turn toward the anxiety? Sure. This is because an alarm system that does not give a rip about what exactly was set off provides maximum protection in any situation in which the disaster might be lurking. And after a leg-up on this disaster is well worth the cost of annoying false alarms.
You see, the cognitivists would propose that the problem causes all problems within the realm of anxiety are the patterns of thought that are essential in the incorrect interpretation of internal and external stimuli (a short breath, a heart palpitations, boarding an airplane, crossing a bridge) that leads to the perception of a reality too. You see, the real threat here is actually the creation and impact of patterns of faulty thinking, misunderstandings and overreactions. And this is what makes a great anxiety of responsibility.
To help you understand the organization and the two theories I've just looked forward, like 'bout this summary.
Psychoanalytic
Unconscious forces clash id like to push the immediate gratification of a primary desire, and the Superego tells of chill-out, because it is not socially acceptable. The ego, in a frantic attempt mediation, it was overwhelmed and anxiety generated. Anxiety is a message - a warning - that the ego, and the individual, is in danger.
Cognitive
Anxiety is not a direct cause of danger, but the result of a lack of internal fear response of the system. It is an emotional reaction in response to the process cognitive fear. The generation of anxiety is designed to be a call for action - an alarm - to deescalate a real world threat. But the threat can be perceived as a reality based on an erroneous interpretation
Then there's the scoop from two theoretical perspectives regarding the origin of anxiety. And how can well imagine there are many more points of view floating around out there. The importance of these formal definitions of learning is all we can about Icky stuff that impacts our lives. And the more we know, we become better armed. Right?
Anxiety - Learn and find relief.
