57 – Prayer – Submission – A Favorable Wind
Prostrating himself before the altar, he submits himself to the will of Heaven. For those who are not religiously inclined, prayer can be taken as a willing submission to a stronger force, much like a woman opens her womb and allows seed to penetrate. Prayer can also mean ‘to hope’ or to let our actions be guided by another, as this is stronger than carrying on alone. We should have a goal or solid request when we pray, and it be advised to take council from a wise elder.
1st – The Scattered Prayer – He is not sure whether to stand up or kneel. He has much doubt regarding the course of his actions. However, if should rediscover his center and charge like a tiger, then all shall be well.
2nd – Prayers From Left Field – He thinks himself so broken and shamed by what has transgressed that he crawls below the bed to hide from the light. During this period, he employs a disorderly rabble of diviners, wizards, thieves and confidence men to carry forth his prayers. And the funny thing is that it actually works!
3rd – All Prayered Out – He prays all through the day, into the night and even past the dawn and still nothing. Prayer is generally a good thing, but perhaps our willpower has been exhausted.
4th – The Rewards of Prayer – He prays for success in hunting elk, but while in the field spots elk, buffalo and pheasant. Our prayer is good and has presented us with new and interesting opportunities for us to consider.
5th – The Window of Prayer – A small effort at the right time is much more effective than a large effort at the incorrect time. Thus said, there is a major change forthcoming and we should use the six day window of opportunity of three before and three after to make our advances. For this is when our power is at its height.
6th – Begging More Than Praying – Exhausted by constant failure, he crawls below the bed to hide from the light. During this time he continues to pray, but now it sounds more like begging. By doing this, he will loose even his pocket money. Perhaps it is now best to stop praying and start working.
All Six – The Prayer Turned Inwards – Instead of focusing on external things, perhaps it is best to be content with our lot and turn our energies inward.
