56 – The Traveler The Hat – Fire on the Mountain

 

Long distance runner, what are you standing there for? The traveler is persistent, stubborn, patient and will find success in simple matters. Traveling does not beget some great goal, but rather creates simple enjoyment and enough gain to subsidize the continuation of more traveling. The traveler is spontaneous in his decisions, going where the wind may blow, but at the same time maintains an ever watchful eye behind that glorious smile. In this way, he will have nothing to fear for it be well know that the Heavens will protect the traveler, for he be the one who forever seeks nothing.

 

1stThe Traveler Distracted – His attention drawn by useless thimbles of this or that, his guard is let down and he steps into disaster. The wise man first confronts the important decisions, leaving the trifling things for later.

 

2ndThe Travelers Inn – He reaches a safe haven with all his valuables still present. He is attended by a young servant. We should expect to reach our destination and win a new friend.

 

3rdThe Careless Traveler – He left a candle flaming and burnt down the inn! Now he no longer has a young friend. Though we may be tired, we must still exert caution and take care to clean up our messes.

 

4thThe Travelers Bankroll – He reaches a stop in which he obtains the required money to finance his trip. However his heart remains sad for he is unable to attain that which he seeks.

 

5thThe Travelers Bounce – He falls down one step, but bounces back two. That is to say, that a small loss in the near future will be advantageous for it will win us assistance from above.

 

6thThe Travelers Karma – Another experiences misfortune and the traveler laughs wildly. This is until he realizes that it affects him as well. He should have had more respect. That which has been lost will never be recovered.

 

All Six – The Traveler Celebrates – Taking the time to forget about this or that, the traveler sets down his pack and uncorks a bottle of red wine to drink with his newfound friend.
