Hexagram #22 – Celebration

22 – The Celebration – Elegance – Fire at the foot of the Mountain

The celebration is a time for people to come together in elegance and beauty. It is the time for drink, song and dance. One should take their lover forcefully by the hand and spin around the dance floor. For the wise man, the celebration is also a time to renew acquaintances, plot alliances and reconcile enemies in this informal meeting place. The celebration is not the meat of the bone and should be considered a staging ground for future affairs. Thus said, small things should be undertaken, but not those great in nature. During the celebration, one should always remain upright and guarded in speech. For things said in jest can have major repercussions in the everyday world.
