10 – The RazorTreading – Water open to the Sky

 

We walk through the valley of darkness, yet we will fear no evil. He treads upon the tail of the tiger, but he is not bitten. Balancing upon the razors edge, we move forward slowly and with confidence. Providing that we do not look back or doubt our actions, we will success in that which we undertake. Fear is the mindkiller. Do not fear.

 

1stReducing the Razor – Reducing the problem to its most basic element is the path of the wise man. Leaving his companions and baggage behind, the hunter stalks into the forest with loincloth and bow. Divide and conquer.

 

2ndConcealing the Razor – The wise man looks within for answers, and finds the wisdom in the peaceful solution. The hunter places down his bow and retreats to the mountain, following the middle path. If there is confusion, perhaps it is the time for peaceful contemplation.

 

3rdThe Unseen Razor – His left eye is injured, he thinks to move forward, but is unable to see the crouching tiger upon the road. We should only proceed if doing so at the request of a strong and wise elder; for they will be able to perceive things to which we are blind. To do otherwise may lead to irrevocable injury.

 

4thThe Razors Edge – Removing his shoes, the hunter quietly stalks into the cave of the tiger. Fear is nothing more than an influx of power. Harness this power and confront adversary with confidence. Success is presaged for those who hold their breath and proceed with confidence.

 

5th - Avoiding the Razor – The razor is too sharp and the encroaching winds make balance impossible. Better to bow our head and find another way.

 

6thOmens of the Razor – The flight of a raven leads the hunter to a watering hole. Look to the sky for an omen and proceed with the confidence of righteous action.

 

All Six – The Razor Breaks – The bowstring snaps, the hunter chips his knife. Perhaps today is not the day for action.
